Medical SearchesRegardless of where you stand on the issue, there has been a lot of debate regarding health care and possible reform.  A survey by About.com shows that people interest in medical diagnosis research is dominating in search.  Nearly half of the people polled said that they use search engines to find information about specific medical needs, while others use search to learn about prescriptions and treatment options.  The results of this study demonstrate patients' thirst for medical knowledge and that they are using search engines as a source to learn more about a variety of health and pharmaceutical topics related to their medical diagnosis.
What's interesting about medical diagnosis online? Well, that the research and validation is happening online in the form of a search engine more  than the patient's physician or a  trusted website like Web.md.
Search is now more critical than ever to provide credible and trusted resources online for patients. If you are a medical professional, how are you responding to these results?  Next time you go to the doctor and are diagnosed, will you be going online to search?
