The third annual Vitrue 100 report is just out, and it highlights the top social media brands of 2010. It's important to note that the rankings are based on the volume of discussion of the brands on:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • YouTube

So, what social brand had the most buzz?

iPhone, followed by Blackberry, Disney, Android and iPad.

In fact, the majority of the list (30%) consists of consumer electronic brands. Retail was the second most popular category with 20%, which makes sense when you consider all of the brands that used social media sites such as Groupon, Foursquare and LivingSocial to offer deals and discounts to consumers.

AT&T was the biggest gainer. Why? They began addressing customer service mentions of the brand on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube by growing a team of five people to nineteen. While large brands still struggle, AT&T’s quick and smart actions to help their customers achieve great service through social channels are part of a growing trend for businesses.
