Job Description: Account Director
The Account Director is a senior leadership position that is the ultimate point of accountability for WebsiteBiz’ accounts. The Account Director works closely with c-level executives and directors/VP's of Marketing to develop strategy, and direct online marketing engagements. The Account Director manages a talented cross functional team on a daily basis which includes account managers, project managers, campaign managers, and analysts.
The Account Director leads strategic account direction for WebsiteBiz client engagements, from smaller innovative campaigns to larger multi-discipline online marketing engagements. Successful candidates must be capable of producing innovative and proven online marketing strategies across all practice areas, translate these strategies into tactics, navigate complex client organizations, achieve results and managing expectations. This is a key role at WebsiteBiz since it often influences the degree of success and account retention. It requires you to think quickly under pressure, as well as motivate and engage your team to produce the optimal results.
Responsibilities
- Own deliverables that contribute strategic value beyond day-to-day campaign tactics
- Establish rapport and maintain long-term relationships with client champion and executives
- Ensure tactical alignment with stated goals, objectives and strategy
- Prioritize & set expectations on key deliverables
- Accountable for client results across all practice areas
- Establish effective staffing levels for each account; monitor book of business fluctuations to proactively identify risks and opportunities
- Orchestrate cross functional teams to achieve strong client results
- Actively lead and/or participate in activities such as regular update meetings, ongoing communication, etc.
- Mentor team and lead continuous improvement throughout the Account Services group
- Achieve recognizable improvements in the skill level and book of business performance of the Account Services team
- Lead highly skilled client delivery teams to enhance and deepen client relationships
- Share responsibility for 100% client retention by proactively identifying risks or opportunities
- Support business development as a situation expert
Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years of online marketing/advertising experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Search Marketing (SEO, Paid Search)
- Display Advertising
- Email Marketing
- Social Media
- Web Analytics
- Testing & Optimization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A history of growing and managing teams
- Prior agency experience preferred
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
